A 23-year-old Maryland man is facing felony assault charges after he climbed over the White House fence and assaulted a police dog.

Secret Service agents identified him as Dominic Adesanya and say he also made threats.

Secret Service spokesman Brian Leary says Adesanya is in custody of the U.S. Marshals Service for previous outstanding warrants. He has also been charged with four misdemeanor counts of resisting arrest and unlawful entry.

Officials say Adesanya didn't have any weapons when he hopped the fence. He was arrested minutes after the incident on the North Lawn.

Adesanya's father told CNN his son is paranoid and hears voices.

President Barack Obama was at the White House at the time of Wednesday's incident.

Just last month another man, Oscar Gonzalez, jumped the White House fence. Gonzalez was able to get into the White House. The situation led to the resignation of the head of the Secret Service.
