The city of Atlanta has suspended its fire chief for self-publishing a book that describes homosexuality as a perversion.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that Fire Chief Kelvin Cochran authored the book as part of lesson plans for a men's Bible study.

The city is investigating whether Cochran violated city policies or discriminated against employees.

Some firefighters said they received copies of the book, titled Who Told You That You Are Naked?, in the workplace.

Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed saud he's deeply disturbed by it and has ordered the chief to complete sensitivity training.
