Early voting for this year's midterm elections is underway and more than 2.3 million Americans have already cast ballots.

Republicans and Democrats both claim good early voting numbers will work to their advantage in the November midterm.

Ultimately, control of the U.S. Senate is the big prize in this election. But right now, a governor's race in Florida and a Senate race in Iowa are among the big tickets to watch.

In Florida, at least 891,000 votes were cast just last week. Opinion polls show Gov. Rick Scott trails Democratic challenger Charlie Crist.

Democrats are using a push to raise the minimum wage in many states to mobilize their base and get voters to the polls.

In Texas, voters will need identification to vote. This election comes after the U.S. Supreme Court upheld the state's voter ID law.
